If you are not using hot-key, I hope you never monk for me

How hard is it to hit key+key?

I use right hand side num pad... so to select party member 2 and use skill 2 it is just 2-2.

I guarantee I can cast heals on each and every party member needing them before you can find the 1st person you are trying to heal.

Stop being lazy and sort out keys to suit your personal finger habits, and see how much faster your work becomes.

Party list is absolutely crucial in monking. If you refuse to use it, you will never get any better then painfully slow. Perhaps you want to play a different profession? Plenty of options there.

OK, no feeling sorry for someone who complains of a problem, gets a solution, refuses it, and then insists the world change around them. Its becoming more and more obvious your not very good at monking and expect Anet to fix what works well for EVERYONE ELSE just for you. Meh, glad I don't need other players in PvE anymore, thanks fully to people like you who just want solutions for their own laziness.

The current 'solution' isn't really a solution.
I'll be honest though, I find the problem extends more to enemy targets rather than allies.

No. Monking whilst watching the field and not looking as much to the party list will make you a better monk, certainly protting wise. Everything I have been told and read about pvp monking conforms top this ideal.

/signed for this option that allready exists in pvp to be available in pve also

What I really want is the "Show enemies" HIDE allies when you press it, and "show allies" HIDE enemies.

It's not very useful when you press the 'show aññies' key ,and when you mouse over the name, all the enemies popup and clutter, moving the ally name around.

/agree.
Another thing is that control key is used to call targets/skills/weapons... I tried to separate this 2 features but I cannot. When I set "show enemies" in a diferent hotkey (not control key) it also change the feature "call targets/skills/weapons... So it's very annoying when I try to see all enemies and all my actions are called.

Then go and make your own thread :-) It doesn't cost a penny.

I did not ask "Hi guys, I'm bad at monk, what can I do!?!?!?"
No, I asked "there's this feature in PvP that I LOVE. It would be great if it were in PvE as well. It would make my PvE experience as enjoyable".

Different things.
If anet takes my suggestion, great! I'll be very happy. Until then, I'll keep playing prot monk in PvE.

I don't have that problem in PvP! I don't have that problem in PvP! I don't have that problem in PvP! Even though playing a monk in PvP is much, much, much more challenging.
That's why I am asking, for a feature that is in PvP, to become possible in PvE as well. If it can be done, great. If not, I'll manage just like I always have.

Because I can show nearby names without pushing down a key or button all the time, I don't have that problem in PvP!

And if you haven't noticed, most people in PvE play zombie healing bars, not prot. So redbars are GOOD for them. I, play prot. Redbarz no gud for prot monks.

If I wanted to be lazy, guess what I would play... zombie heal monk :-) But no, I enjoy protting.

The new minion window was an awesome addition, and this sounds like a similarly great option.

I never said anything about looking EXCLUSIVELY to the party list only that you are deliberately gimping yourself by not using it. The OP comes off as someone who demands a radar installed in his car because he refuses to use his mirrors for some unfathomable reason.

Oh and good luck removing a condition the second it was applied without the party screen.

Party list is good for healing, yes. You need to see how full the bar is.
But for protting, you need to see "HOLY @*(!!#&!!! that guy's gonna get hit by a 300 armor ignoring dmg skill!" *prots*

So what you suggest, is
See big fat damage coming to character,
Move my eyes to party list.
Find person's name. Click it.
Hit my prot skill.

OH WAIT. By the time I do that, he's probably dead.

Your party list does not give you the information necessary to prot. By the time you see the damage, the damage is already done, it's too late to prot.

I remove conditions much faster by clicking the person. Because I see the blindness (etc) animation as soon as it hits.
For example, broad head arrow. You see the arrow landing. You can click the character, and, as soon as it hits, remove condition.
Hexes have animations on target.
Damage you can usually see where it's going before it hits.

It's completely different from healing.

What is your actual objection against this feature being implemented?

No objections at all. I just don't get your playstyle as it sounds horribly inpractical. And of course you pre prot whoever is going to aggro or is especially likely to get targeted due to squishyness or importance to counter the enemy team. That are just the basics.

I have been playing prot for years just fine using the party screen to select targets. Anything better then tryng to single out those tiny floating names that are jumping all over the place. But that may just be what is burned into my muscle memory. Having those names permanently highlighted would improve little when it comes to ergonomics.

So you can keep the option turned off :-) If you look at the PvP version, you can turn it on and off.
